What are the six pillars of character?

A framework for teaching good character:

1.   Trustworthiness
2.   Respect
3.   Responsibility
4.   Fairness
5.   Caring
6.   Citizenship

Example:

1.Trustworthiness:

·       Be honest
·       Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal

2.Respect:

·       Treat others with respect
·       Use good manners

3.Responsibilities:

·       Do what you are supposed to do
·       Plan ahead

4.   Fairness:

·       Play by the rules
·       Take turns and share

5.Caring:

·       Be kind
·       Be compassionate and show you care

6.Citizenship:

·       Do your share to make your school and community better

·       Get involved in community affairs

I apply the six pillars of character when needed throughout my life. I know when and where to use them and with certain people.
